On March 18, 2025, the Institute of East Asian Studies hosted a talk titled "Current Cross-Strait Relations and Government Policy on Mainland China." The featured speaker was Yu-Chung Shen (沈有忠), Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council under the Executive Yuan, with Professor Chienwu Alex Hsueh (薛健吾) of the Institute serving as moderator. The talk attracted nearly 60 enthusiastic faculty and student attendees. Associate Professors Yun Wang (王韻) and Tsai-Wei Sun (孫采薇) from the Institute also joined the session, engaging in in-depth discussions on the evolving dynamics of cross-strait relations and the government's strategic policy responses.
