On March 5, 2025, the Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies held a talk featuring Professor Brian C. H. Fong (方志恒), Vice Dean of the College of Social Sciences at National Sun Yat-sen University. Professor Fong introduced the key research insights from his recently published book, US-China Rivalry: Great Power Competition in the Indo-Pacific （中美競逐：印太地區的大國競爭）. The event was moderated by Professor Chienwu Alex Hsueh (薛健吾) of the Institute and attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty and students across various departments. A lively discussion followed the lecture, reflecting strong interest in the topic.
